Tip of the day time is here!
To avoid making serious impulse purchases (not to mention arguments with your spouse!) comes up with an impulse limit. Ours is $50. Meaning...if you fall in love with something in the store and it costs more than $50, do no go buying it without leaving the store and discussing it with your significant other first.

Tip of the day time is here.
Did you know that some manufacturers of major drugs offer coupons for your prescriptions? This is more common for meds people are prescribed for daily use for an extended period of time. A friend of mine recently found out she could shave an additional $4 off her copay for her Zoloft prescription. That's almost $50 extra bucks back into her pocket annually.
Google the meds you take and check it out!

Why are frugal people writing books about how to be more frugal? And why are people who really want to be more frugal buying them?
If you want to be more frugal, troll the internet for tips. Strike up conversations with friends (for once in a really long time EVERYONE is talking about how to save money). But for the love of Pete, DO NOT spend money on books that promise to tell you how to save money.
Frugal friends, I can promise you I will never sell out and put out a book spouting the same stuff I share with you right here for free. I pinky promise...

Everyone in our house suffers from allergies of some sort. My son even does year-round. That means he take Allegra every. single. day.
And it is not an approved drug (insurance swears Claritin should do the trick and it does not).
So we were paying $60 a script for it! Yikes!
Good news-----March 4th Allergra is finally going to be offered OTC (over the counter for those not in the know). Yay! I bet there will even be sales and coupons on top of it costing less now! Woo hoo!
ETA....a little bird told me you can sign up for coupons right on Allegra's site!

Tip of the day time!
Everyone knows that going to the grocery store without a list is a recipe for disaster! You'll overspend for sure. Try Grocery List Maker's application to make a customized shopping list without lifting a pencil. It's free!

Ever think you would like to start a stockpile, but just don't know where to keep all your treasures? Read up all about it right here.

Tip of the day time!
You know that expression "save up for a rainy day"? I've always said the opposite, I like to save up for a sunny day!
Today's mild weather here on the east coast has me thinking the Groundhog might be right this year...spring could be just around the corner. And after that comes --- SUMMER! Think of all the fun things you might want to do this summer. If you start saving now, little by little, you could have enough for that weekend at the beach, community pool registration, etc.

Tip of the day time!
Got leftover candy canes? Turn them into these adorable valentines. Or into these lil lollies. Or go the extra mile and add a little chocolate lovin with these cuties!

Why is it that when Valentine's Day falls on a weekday people choose to celebrate on the Saturday BEFORE the holiday? Why not AFTER? All the holiday merchandise will be 50-75% off (at least!) and the restaurants will not be hiking up their dinner menu any longer like they do for the holidays.
This may not appeal to new daters, but for old-time couples who have been married for years it really doesn't matter which day you celebrate your love, right? That's what DH and I decided long ago...

Tip of the day time!
Are you tired of paying for high phone bills for your house line? How about trying a VOIP provider instead of a standard phone service provider? VOIP stand for voice over IP, which basically means the phone works off your internet connection. Our family happily uses Vonage, but there are many companies that offer great prices for unlimited monthly calls for around $15.
