Here's my recipe so you can enjoy the cinnamon-y goodness in your home!
SNICKERDOODLES
INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Cinnamon-sugar mix
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a large bowl, cream together the shortening and sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time then stir in the vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; blend into the creamed mixture. Roll dough into 1" balls and gently roll in cinnamon-sugar mix. Place them 1" apart onto cookie sheets. Flatten each ball slightly.
- Bake for 9 to 10 minutes. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for about 3 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.

Mmmm...I wish I was at your back to school nigh tonight!! LOL
Thanks for posting this! I just had some yummy snickerdoodles at a baby shower and was looking for a TNT recipe!
Be thankful that your school district still allows home baked goodies. Everything that comes into our school must be store bought. It really puts a crimp on things from fundraisers, after school events, etc.
Yum. I love Snickerdoodles. I used to take my mom's homemade Snickerdoodles to my college dorm...everyone when crazy for them.
Enjoy, ladies!
:)
Thanks for sharing this recipe. I just made them and they are so good!
